Washington State XC — Documentary Coverage
WIAA State
XC Championships
Notice of Operations — State Championship
The lens follows the race,
not the roster.
Every classification, one course, one Saturday. This is the last race of the year — every athlete on this line has been climbing toward it since August. That scale changes how coverage works.
What I shoot is the meet itself — editorial, free-range, for the culture. The leader committing on the front straight. The closer with nothing left in the last 200. The chute at the moment form gives out, classification after classification. I go where the story goes, and the story doesn't check start lists.
There's no private commission at State — the field is too large for it to mean anything. What comes out of the edit is released free, for programs, athletes, and families to use.
- EditorialCoverage follows the narrative of the race — no roster obligations.
- CuratedA tight set of selects, not a volume archive. Every frame earns its place.
- Free & SocialSocial-ready selects released at no cost — credit appreciated, not required.
State Meet Coverage — Free Access, No Commission
At this scale, one photographer can't dedicate a checkpoint plan to a single athlete without shortchanging the rest of the field — so State runs editorial-only. Selects are released free, sized for social, for every program and family to grab.

Coverage pending — selects drop within 72h of the final race
Curated selects from every classification — the story as I found it. This is not a bib-searchable volume archive, and inclusion isn't guaranteed. Social-ready crops are free for teams, athletes, and families; media and commercial use by arrangement.

Straight Answers
FAQ
Will there be photos of every athlete at State?
No. With every classification racing on one course, individual guarantees aren't possible at this scale. Coverage is editorial and follows the story of each race — the leaders, the closers, the moments that define the day.
How do I get a photo of my athlete?
There's no private commission option at State — the field is too large. Check the gallery once selects are posted: free, social-ready crops are released for teams, athletes, and families to use.
When do the images post?
Curated selects publish within 72 hours of the final race. The gallery button on this page activates automatically when they're up.
Can I use the photos commercially, or for a school program?
Free social-ready images are licensed for team, athlete, and family use. Commercial, media, and school program licensing is available — get in touch through the main site.
