I believe professional photography is a powerful tool to celebrate who you are and mark one of the most important milestones in your life: high school graduation. I also understand that for many, the cost of a professional senior portrait session is a significant financial barrier, excluding them from this important high school tradition.
My Community Program is my commitment to making these sessions accessible to all high school students in our Olympia-area community, regardless of their ability to pay.
Everyone Deserves a Beautiful Portrait
The Community Program: How It Works
This program is designed specifically for senior portraits (or portraits for any high school student) and runs on a "Pay What You Can" (PWYC) model, which includes a free option. It is built on trust, respect, and a mutual desire to create beautiful images.
Community "Scholarship" Slots
Each month, I reserve 2 senior portrait slots that are offered completely free of charge. These are intended for students and families who cannot otherwise afford a session. These are first-come, first-served, and you can apply using the form below.
"Pay What You Can" Sessions
If the free "Scholarship" slots are full, or if your family is in a position to contribute something (even if it's not the full price), you can use the "Pay What You Can" option. You decide what works for your budget, no questions asked.
Your contribution, whatever it may be, is accepted with gratitude and helps sustain this program for other students.
What Does a Community Session Include?
To ensure I can help as many people as possible, these sessions are structured to be simple, professional, and efficient.
A 20-30 minute portrait session.
A pre-determined, easy-to-access public location in Olympia.
A private online viewing gallery.
Your choice of 5 high-resolution digital images with a personal print release.
A respectful, dignified, and fun experience.
This Program Is for High School Students
This program is specifically for high school students in the Thurston County area (e.g., Class of 2026, 2027, etc.) for whom the cost of traditional senior portraits is a genuine financial barrier.
This includes (but is not limited to) students from the BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ communities, those in single-parent families, or anyone experiencing financial hardship.
This program operates entirely on the honor system. You and your family will never be asked to share financial details or "prove" your need. I trust you, and I'm just happy to help.
Want to Help? Pay It Forward.
This program is sustained by my time and by the generosity of full-price clients. If you are in a position to do so and would like to help, you can "Pay It Forward" by sponsoring a session for a local student.
