BEHIND THE SCENES

THE EDIT

Every image you receive goes through my signature color-grading process. I don't just apply a filter. I hand-retouch skin, dodge and burn lighting, and color grade to match the mood.

CLIENT LOVE

HEARD ON THE STREET

Russell's photos completely exceeded my expectations. They are absolutely stunning! The whole process felt effortless and fun. I never felt pressured or awkward... it was like spending time with a friend who happened to be taking incredible photos.

BROCK HERRINGTON
Community Portrait Client

He told me exactly how to pose and position. I was so happy with the results and would totally do another shoot with him. Russell helped me feel more natural when I typically struggle to take photos.

THE DETAILS

FREQUENTLY ASKED

01.

BEST LOCATIONS IN OLYMPIA?

Olympia is full of incredible spots! For a natural vibe, I can take you to places like Priest Point Park or the trails at Capitol State Forest. For a more urban feel, downtown Olympia, the alleyway murals, and the waterfront offer fantastic backdrops. During our consultation, we’ll choose locations that best match your personality.

02.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?

Late summer and early fall are the most popular times for that golden light. The summer before your senior year is ideal for meeting yearbook deadlines. However, spring sessions can also be gorgeous with blooming flowers. I recommend booking at least 2-3 months in advance.

03.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

I recommend bringing 2-3 outfits that make you feel confident. Think about variety: one casual fit that reflects your everyday style, something a bit more dressed up, and an outfit that showcases a hobby or sport (like a jersey or instrument). Avoid small, busy patterns and large logos that distract from your face.

04.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND/PET?

Absolutely. This session is about celebrating you, and that includes the important people (and animals) in your life. I can definitely incorporate them into a portion of the shoot. Just let me know during our consultation so we can plan for it properly.
