I’m Russell (he/they), a photographer based in Olympia, WA, with a passion for capturing moments that tell stories and show the world from a different perspective.

I don't spectate. I participate. My approach is forged in the same mud and rain as the athletes I document. As an ultra-runner, I understand the psychology of endurance—the breaking point, the flow state, and the finish. I bring that same relentless intensity to my commercial work, ensuring that every image captures the visceral reality of the moment.

My mission is rooted in equity and inclusivity. I strive to ensure every athlete—whether they're leading the pack or competing in underrepresented categories like wheelchair or ambulatory races—has their moment captured. I aim to create images that kids, families, and schools are proud to share.

Outside of photography, I’m an outdoor enthusiast, a proud parent of three incredible kids, and a fan of a good Fortnite session. I've also completed several ultra-marathons (50k & 50-milers), which fuel my love for capturing the beauty and grit of outdoor sports.
