When Mt. Spokane’s Jane Wycoff steps onto the track at Mt Tahoma Athletic Stadium, she will enter as the top-seeded 3A girl. However, she faces a formidable and highly decorated group of challengers.
Senior Cassidy Armstrong of Ballard is looking to close out her high school career by pulling off a massive victory, aiming to take down both Wycoff and Mercer Island’s Sophia Rodriguez. Rodriguez is an absolute powerhouse in the division; she returns as the heavily decorated reigning 1,600m and 3,200m state champion, entering the race poised to maintain her dominance over Washington distance running.

The boys' 1,600m is shaping up to be a high-stakes tactical battle between Max Billett (Shorewood) and Henry Herb (Seattle Prep). Billett currently holds the fastest time in the division, but Herb is less than two seconds behind him, setting the stage for a dramatic, shoulder-to-shoulder finish.

Spectators should expect this elite lead group to remain in a tight, calculating pack for the first three laps, with the podium ultimately decided by who has the deepest reserves for a violent final sprint.
