Bears Showcase Speed at Annual Intrasquad Time Trial!

The Olympia Bears cross country program kicked off its season with an impressive intrasquad time trial, giving the athletes a chance to test their limits and showcase the results of their summer training. The energy was high as both the girls' and boys' teams laid down strong benchmark performances, signaling an exciting season ahead.

This annual event is a fantastic way for the team to come together, measure their progress, and see where they stand as they prepare for their first competitive meet.


Girls' Team Shows Impressive Form

The girls' team demonstrated incredible depth, with strong performances across all grade levels. Junior Carolina Schilter¹ looked to be in mid-season form already, setting the pace for the squad and finishing with a fantastic time of 20:27.0..

The future of the program is clearly bright, with a powerhouse trio of freshmen making an immediate impact. Gemma Stevick², Caitlin Lanese, and Leah Hennen all posted huge Personal Records (PRs), showing they are ready to contribute right away. The team displayed excellent pack running, a key indicator of future success.

Boys' Team Displays Leadership and New Talent

Olympia High School Bears Top-10 Boys

The boys' team featured a powerful mix of veteran leadership and exciting new talent. Senior Caden Durocher¹ led from the front, setting a high standard for the team with a blistering time of 17:45.9.

The freshman class made its presence known immediately, with an incredible five first-year runners finishing in the top ten. Quenton Lanese² turned heads with a stellar performance, clocking in at 18:19.7 for a massive personal best. This blend of experienced upperclassmen and determined freshmen bodes well for the competitive season.
