The Proving Ground
On May 2nd, Sparks Stadium hosts the 2026 South Sound Classic, one of the deepest invitationals on the West Coast. Known for its massive fields and fast times, this is the definitive mid-season test for athletes hunting qualifying marks.
Russell Moore Photography will be trackside capturing the chaos, from the crowded distance packs to the explosive sprints. This is where the contenders separate themselves from the field.
PHOTO UPDATE: Full galleries will be posted here within 48 hours of the meet conclusion.

Covered Stands
The defining feature of Sparks Stadium. The massive covered grandstand protects spectators from the rain, making it a loud, weatherproof environment.
Fast Track
The surface at Sparks is known for being hard and fast. Expect massive PRs in the sprints and hurdles if the wind cooperates.
Parking
Limited lot parking. Most spectators park at the Washington State Fairgrounds nearby or on the surrounding neighborhood streets (watch for signs).
Concessions
Full concession stand is usually open under the grandstand. Plenty of food options (Skoop, Crockett's) within walking distance in downtown Puyallup.
