The Seattle Double: 2026 UW Invitational & Mile City Deployment Guide

Operation Seattle: The 2026 UW Invitational & Mile City Field Guide

This weekend, the focus of the indoor track world shifts to the purple-stained oval of the Dempsey Indoor. But this isn't just another meet; it's a "Double Agent" operation.

For 48 hours, I am deploying a dual-lens strategy to cover two distinct vibes in Seattle: The elite precision of the UW Invitational on Friday, and the rolling thunder of Mile City on Saturday.

Whether you are an athlete hunting a qualifier or a fan tracking the splits, here is the operational intel for the weekend.

Friday, Jan 30: The Corporate Mission (UW Invite)

Friday is business. This is the DyeStat deployment. The focus is on the Invite 5Ks and the Pentathlon. We are looking for national leads, precise splits, and "Hero Shots" of the field breaking into the final laps.

  • 10:00 AM: Field & Running Events Begin

  • 1:30 PM: Pentathlon Hurdles

  • 6:20 PM: Women's Invite 5K (The big show)

  • 6:40 PM: Men's Invite 5K

Saturday, Jan 31: The Culture Mission (Mile City)

Saturday is pure atmosphere. This is the WestcoastXC deployment. Mile City strips away the noise and focuses on one thing: The Mile. With over 40 heats rolling from morning until night, this is about the depth of the running community.

  • 10:00 AM: Open Sections (Women's 1-25)

  • 2:00 PM: Women's Invite Mile

  • 2:15 PM: Men's Invite Mile

  • 3:30 PM: Men's Open Sections (1-20)

Logistics & Intel

If you are boots-on-the-ground at the Dempsey, you need to know the entry protocols. The facility is running a Clear Bag Policy and cashless entry ($12/day).

Need the full breakdown? We have built a dedicated Command Center with live schedule updates, parking maps, and athlete entry standards.
