Pope John Paul II & Olympia XC Teams Shine at District Championship
I'm excited to share an article I wrote for ThurstonTalk covering the Westside Classic District II/IV Championship.
Mud-splattered but determined, Olympia's Caden Durocher crosses the finish line, earning his ticket to the State Championship.
Despite brutal weather with heavy rain and wind at Chambers Bay, our local high school runners showed incredible grit. Both the Pope John Paul II High School boys and girls teams swept their divisions to clinch state championship berths. The Olympia High School girls team also secured their spot at State with a fantastic second-place finish, and two runners from the Olympia boys team qualified individually.
