The Spark of Collaboration
In the pursuit of helping brands and individuals elevate their visual identity, I spent weeks reaching out to creative leaders and art directors across the West Coast. Navigating the busy schedules of modern professionals is a complex art, but sometimes, a single proposal finds its perfect home.
When I reached out to Jen at Shear Barber Studio with the idea for a headshot pop-up event, their response was immediate and enthusiastic: “Hey! That sounds awesome…”. That quick confirmation was the catalyst for a day dedicated to capturing the essence of local talent.

From Logistics to Artistic Connection
The transition from a vision to execution required a dedicated digital strategy, including a custom landing page and a targeted outreach campaign to local professionals. The result was a fully realized schedule featuring four appointments with local leaders and sessions for all three expert barbers at the studio.

On the day of the event, the studio transformed into a high-end photography suite. The sessions began with the barbers—the craftsmen of the studio—followed by my first appointment, Hazel from Kiwifruit Coaching. Beyond the technical aspects of the shoot, the day was defined by the human experience: deep conversations about the intersection of business and technology, and the shared passion that drives local entrepreneurs.

While the peak of the day was a whirlwind of activity and high-energy sessions, the true value was found in the quiet moments of connection. There is a specific kind of exhaustion that follows a successful creative endeavor—a feeling of being "full".
Walking away from the Shear Barber Studio, I didn't just leave with a portfolio of high-quality professional headshots; I left with the satisfaction of having helped a handful of fantastic people showcase their best selves to the world.
