Athlete Bio & Scouting

Quenton Lanese is not just an emerging star in Washington State; he is a generational prodigy redefining national distance running standards. A highly touted athlete since middle school—where he captured the world record for 12-year-old boys in the mile—Lanese’s transition to the high school ranks has been nothing short of historically disruptive.

"A prodigy redefining the limits of age and endurance. Lanese doesn't just race his peers; he races history."

As a freshman at Olympia High School, Lanese immediately established dominance on the grass, dropping a 15:05.4 5K to claim the No. 2 all-time cross country spot for the Bears. He then transitioned to the track to shatter the Olympia school records in the 1500m, 1600m, and 3200m. Capping off an unbelievable 2026 spring campaign, Lanese claimed National Freshman Records in both the 1600m and 3200m while securing runner-up finishes at the 4A State Championships against the fastest upperclassmen in Washington.
